A Day At The Park

There is a really cool park in West Jordan that the kids love to go to.  It is built like a western town with really fun slides and swings.  I took a couple of days off of work and we pretended it was finnally spring and went to the park.  Libby's favorite is the tire swing.  She spins and spins until everyone stops laughing and their tummies start to hurt and they want to throw up.  She hasn't learned how to stop before that happens yet.
Here is my always happy little boy.  I have to say that he can be such a sweetheart most of the time.  He loves to hug you and be by you and hold your hand.  He really is sweet but we have been going through a little rough time these last couple of weeks.  In our old neighborhood, all the little boys played video games.  I was a little reluctant to let him learn but also felt bad that he could only watch.  So we were selective at what we let him play but bought him games such as lego Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles and games like that.  I was surprised at how quickly he learned to play and how much more I got done around the house while he played video games.  I never imaged he would really think that he was a ninja turtle.

After the park we decided to go to McDonalds for a little lunch.  In the play area they have a place where there are small little balls, like the balls we played kickball with when we were little, and you could through them through some holes in the wall.  I thought that all the little boys in the little area were playing nicely.  All of a sudden I heard a mother say "what is going on in here?"  Knowing that Markus was there I went over to make sure that my sweet little boy was OK.  When I asked him what was wrong he said that the boys would not give him a ball.  The other mother then informed me that that was not the case.  She said "Your son attacked all 4 boys and then he began to wail on them."  All the boys were crying and  I was sooooo embarrassed.  Who wants to have mean kid!  I tried to let them all know that  I really wasn't a bad mother and I made him apologize to all the kids as all of their mothers just glared at me.  Yes, I quickly took my "mean" child out of McDonalds and went home.

So, now the PS2 is gone and he can no longer watch any shows that they fight in.  It is sometimes hard in the winter time to not let them watch TV because what else are they going to do when they can't go outside.  So we now watch animal planet, the cooking network and read alot.  I have had to be alot more disciplined in entertaining my kids but it was a good lesson for me.
Sweet again!!!!

Your a good mom. Most boys will get aggressive at times, its how their parents handle it---thats the difference. I bet your ready for some sunshine and warmer outdoor weather. Being cooped up in the summer (here) I can relate to your winters. I still think snow is harder than heat.
