We took the kids up to the sled hill in Park City this weekend. Erik is a ski patroller at Park City Mountain Resort on Saturdays, so he just met us at the hill. Erik has been patrolling for 5 years and loves every minute of it. I don't enjoy him being gone every Saturday from December to April but since he grew up skiing every chance he could, I am glad he can still find the time.

It is pictures like these that make all the troubles of finding warm clothes worth it. I wouldn't pass up these "hugging moments" for anything. As long as I have lived in Utah, I still can't manage to get all the warm clothes together. Someone is always yelling. "I can't find my gloves! My boots are way to small! I can't find my hat!" But I figure as long as they are warm, things don't have to exactly match and be exactly your size as long as we have smiles on our face and we are ready to rumble!

They were sooooo excited to pick their own tube and get going. Even Alta was ready for the adventure. I figured she would be scared but she sang "Following the Leader" from Peter Pan all the way up the hill and screamed happily all the way down the hill.

She wouldn't keep her gloves on. Not because one was rainbow print and the other black and one was Libby's old glove and one was Markus' old glove, but because she wanted to be able to see her fingers and move them freely. I told you things didn't have to match!

They had so much fun that Alta was fast asleep before I even got to the freeway entrance. Markus decided that Dad was much more fun, so he rode home with Erik. There was a small hill for everyone and then a big hill for those 7 an older. Erik managed to sneak Markus on the big hill but when I tried to go with him, I got caught. I have never been a very good liar and so when the worker told me that Markus wasn't 7 like I was trying to infer that he was, I ended up backing down and taking the screaming, crying Markus back to the small hill. He was none to pleased with me and when we raced down the hill and I managed to beat him (mostly because I weight 5 times more than him) I just added more fuel to his already brewing fire. He let me know that he was mad by kicking my tube and saying he no longer wanted me to put him to bed at night EVER again. Dad can do it from now on! I am glad that I have a good sense of humor because laughing at this temper tantrum made it very funny rather than humiliating that I was being chewed out by my 5 year old!

You are a fun mom. Your kids are loving the snow! Where is a picture of you, my dear friend. Your husband is living my husband DREAM. He envies anyone who gets to ski weekly. Snowskiing is one of his passions in life. Well, anything to do with the snow. I like your new background, cute. Have a great week.
You crack me up still Mel! I can totally picture you laughing at your 5 year old's tantrum. I also love the new look.
